Job Purpose

The Accounts Receivable Clerk will be responsible for managing and monitoring accounts receivable activities, ensuring accurate recording and processing of transactions, reconciling customer accounts, and maintaining effective communication with customers regarding outstanding invoices and payments.

The successful candidate will also support financial management activities and work closely with sales, finance, and operations teams to improve collection processes and overall receivables management.

Key Responsibilities

The Accounts Receivable Clerk will be responsible for:

  • Managing accounts receivable and maintaining accurate customer account records.
  • Communicating with customers regarding outstanding invoices and payment discrepancies.
  • Reconciling accounts receivable accounts and identifying any differences or outstanding balances.
  • Following up with customers regarding payment status, payment reminders, payment terms, and overdue invoices.
  • Responding to and resolving payment-related inquiries or issues promptly and professionally.
  • Assisting with financial management and other accounting-related tasks.
  • Collaborating with sales, finance, and operations teams to streamline accounts receivable processes.
  • Supporting efforts to improve customer collections and overall receivables management.
  • Ensuring accurate invoice processing, data entry, documentation, and financial records.

Qualifications and Skills Required

Applicants for the Accounts Receivable Clerk position at Buildmart Limited should meet the following requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field is required.
  • At least 3 years of experience in accounts or a related financial field is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Excellent computer literacy and proficiency in using office applications.
  • Knowledge of accounting software is an added advantage.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with customers and internal teams.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and reconciliation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with sales, finance, and operations departments.

Preferred Experience

Candidates with 3 years or more of experience in accounting, accounts receivable, finance, or a related field are highly encouraged to apply.

Previous experience in customer account management, invoice processing, payment follow-up, account reconciliation, and collections will be an added advantage.
