Job Purpose
The Relationship Manager – Commercial Chinese Desk will advise the Business Banking department on strategies for growing the Chinese commercial business customer portfolio.
The successful candidates will support customer acquisition, business growth, lending, deposits, relationship management, and other banking services for Chinese commercial customers.
Key Responsibilities
The Relationship Manager will be responsible for:
- Actively selling deposits, loans, foreign exchange, internet banking, trade products, and other banking products to Chinese commercial customers.
- Appraising credit applications above branch limits and providing recommendations for decision-making.
- Advising senior management on strategies for developing Chinese commercial businesses.
- Supporting growth in Chinese customer portfolios through networking and relevant business activities.
- Working closely with Relationship Officers and Branch Managers to achieve business growth.
- Mentoring and supporting SME Relationship Officers to improve credit applications and business performance.
- Reviewing customer feedback, market intelligence, workshops, and focus-group reports.
- Assessing product design and performance and identifying opportunities for product improvement or redesign.
- Coordinating budget objectives for Chinese business activities.
- Supporting achievement of approved business targets.
- Ensuring customer satisfaction by providing accurate banking advice and solutions.
- Preparing budgets and projections for loan and deposit products.
- Supporting the growth of the bank's Chinese commercial customer portfolio.
Qualifications for Relationship Manager – Chinese Desk
Applicants should meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Banking, or a related field.
- A Master's degree in Business Studies is an added advantage.
- Postgraduate education in Banking and/or relevant banking certification is an added advantage.
- At least 4 years of experience in Retail Banking, SME and Commercial Business lending, and/or Business Banking Relationship Management.
- Experience dealing with the Chinese business sector is required.
- Fluency in Chinese is required.
