KNCU is a farmer-owned cooperative union established in 1933 to promote the collective interests of smallholder coffee farmers in the Kilimanjaro Region. The organization operates across Siha, Hai, Moshi Rural, and Rombo districts.
General Manager Job Responsibilities
The General Manager will provide overall leadership and management of the Union. Key responsibilities include:
Recruiting, supporting career development, and taking disciplinary action against subordinate employees in consultation with the Board.
Coordinating implementation of the organization's Strategic Plan, Business Plan, action plans, and performance targets.
Building relationships with coffee industry regulators, research institutions, local authorities, agricultural input suppliers, NGOs, financial institutions, and other stakeholders.
Establishing effective performance management, reporting, and communication systems.
Ensuring accurate and timely preparation of income and expenditure statements, balance sheets, and other financial reports.
Implementing recommendations from external auditors, the Managing Board, Annual General Meeting, and relevant authorities.
Ensuring accounting books and financial records are properly maintained and made available to auditors.
Convening General Meetings in consultation with the Chairperson.
Serving as Secretary during General Meetings and Board meetings.
Authorizing and facilitating payment of salaries, allowances, and other Board-approved payments.
Handling employee disciplinary matters in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
Maintaining strong relationships with KNCU members.
Developing mutually beneficial business partnerships.
Ensuring compliance with cooperative policies, legislation, regulations, KNCU By-Laws, strategic plans, and operational manuals.
Qualifications for KNCU General Manager
