About the PE Teaching Assistant Role
The PE Teaching Assistant will work under the direction of the lead classroom teacher and assist with teaching, student support, administration, classroom organization and outdoor activities.

This is a broad teaching assistant job in Tanzania, involving classroom support as well as physical education, playground supervision, lunch duties, boarding support, educational activities and pastoral care.
Key Responsibilities
The PE Teaching Assistant will be expected to:
- Support pupils with their learning and development.
- Motivate and encourage children to learn through practical experiences.
- Assist pupils with physical coordination, communication and social development.
- Support individual students and groups according to their learning needs.
- Help maintain students' health, safety and welfare during lessons and activities.
- Teach a small number of lessons when required.
- Prepare learning materials, visual aids and teaching resources.
- Assist teachers with lesson preparation and classroom activities.
- Monitor students' responses to learning activities.
- Provide feedback about pupils to the class teacher.
- Assist with routine assessments and marking.
- Support the use of ICT in the classroom and ICT labs.
- Maintain an organized and positive learning environment.
- Supervise pupils during breaks, lunch and outdoor activities.
- Encourage children to participate in healthy and active activities.
- Promote inclusion among pupils.
- Report accidents and illnesses according to school procedures.
- Support primary pupils in the boarding house when assigned afternoon boarding duties.
- Assist pupils with homework and organize suitable educational activities.
- Supervise pupils during school outings and visits.
- Attend staff meetings when required.
- Provide appropriate pastoral support to students.
- Maintain confidentiality and follow safeguarding procedures.
- Perform other reasonable duties assigned by the teacher or Assistant Head.
Requirements and Qualifications
