NMB Bank Specialist; Financial Crime Controls Job Description
The successful candidate will support the design, implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of financial crime controls across NMB Bank.
The role involves transaction monitoring, investigation of suspicious activities, AML/CFT/CPF controls, sanctions screening, customer due diligence, financial crime risk assessments, regulatory reporting, and financial crime awareness.
Key Responsibilities
The Specialist; Financial Crime Controls will be responsible for:
- Reviewing transaction monitoring alerts and supporting investigations of unusual or potentially suspicious activities.
- Investigating suspected suspicious transactions and escalating material or suspicious activity in accordance with established procedures.
- Preparing comprehensive investigation reports, findings, and recommendations.
- Supporting AML, CFT and CPF compliance and financial crime awareness programmes.
- Reviewing customer Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) processes.
- Monitoring high-risk customers, jurisdictions, products, services, delivery channels, and transactions.
- Assessing customer profiles, expected account activity, source of funds, and, where applicable, source of wealth.
- Reviewing and assessing potential sanctions and watchlist screening matches.
- Ensuring appropriate escalation and disposition of screening alerts.
- Supporting the preparation and submission of Suspicious Transaction Reports in accordance with applicable requirements.
- Identifying emerging financial crime risks, trends, and typologies.
- Supporting the development and periodic review of AML, CFT, sanctions, fraud, and other financial crime policies and procedures.
- Supporting enterprise-level and business-level ML/TF/PF risk assessments.
- Providing management information relating to transaction monitoring, investigations, control testing, and remediation.
- Supporting financial crime governance committees through reports and briefing materials.
- Identifying staff training requirements and supporting financial crime training initiatives.
- Ensuring financial crime procedures remain aligned with applicable regulatory requirements and industry standards.
